We’re living in times when the world is yelling at the top of its lungs. It’s yelling at all of us. It’s yelling at us from the TV, the radio, on the web, and now at every business we enter (if we’re allowed to enter it). And if we’re not, we’re being yelled at about that.
But no matter what the world is yelling at us, we can rest assured that God’s Word speaks louder, echoes further, and lasts longer than anything the world could ever say. For some of us, we may not know what the Word says, or that what the world says is in direct contradiction to the Word of God. So just as a fresh reminder, I wanted to share some of the things that the world is yelling at us right now and what God has said.
Trust God. He’s faithful. His Word is true.
The world says don’t get too close – you might get infected. Stay inside, stay away. This virus is serious. Take it serious.
The Word says by the stripes of Jesus you were healed. My Lord is my strong tower, my refuge, and my shield. You am redeemed from the curse of the law, which includes this virus.
1 Peter 2:24; Proverbs 18:10; Psalm 91:2, 4; Galatians 3:13, Deuteronomy 28:61
The world says you should be in fear because everyone’s getting this and when you get it, you could die.
The Word says you are loved by the Creator of Heaven and Earth and He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7; Hebrew 13:6; 1 John 4:18; Psalm 23:4
The world says that we live in times of uncertainty, you can’t know what is going to happen, so you better be well prepared, hoard whatever you think you might run out of.
The Word says that the Holy Spirit will show you things to come, God says to come sit with Him and He will show you great and wonderful things that you do not know. The Word says that God will supply your every need according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.
John 16:13; Jeremiah 33:3; Philippians 4:19; Genesis 22:14
The world says don’t touch anyone, you’ll make them sick.
The Word says You shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
Take the Word of God. Feed on the Word of God. Turn off the TV, the radio, the internet. Turn off the voice of the world. Amplify the Word of God. Put it in your ears. Put it in your mouth. Confess it. Grow your faith.
If you feed on what the world says, you’re going to get fat on what the world is. If you feed on the Word of God, you’re going to get fat on what the Word says. Get fat on faith, boldness, health, healing, the leading of the Spirit. Get that overflowing out of you. Stay with the Word and the Spirit.
