Fayetteville, Tennessee

April 29, 2011 By Krist Leave a Comment

This past week the south was hit with violent tornadoes that have caused millions of dollars in damage and killed hundreds. One of the places hit by the storms was my hometown of Fayetteville, TN. It’s a small town where it seems everyone knows most of the people there. After talking to everyone I know, […]

The Graphic Artist Web Designer

April 27, 2011 By Krist Leave a Comment

I’ve been using this for a while, and I’m actually a version behind now, but I wanted to share a cool little plug-in that transforms graphic artists into web designers. How? By turning psd files into websites. You might have heard of it, Sitegrinder has been around for a while. If you read graphic design […]

The Web Designer iPhone Developer

April 26, 2011 By Krist Leave a Comment

At my job, I have to do a lot of stuff. If it fits into the category of media, I have to cover it. For about a month and a half, I have been tasked with the job of learning how to make an iPhone app. At first, I went at it gun-ho, downloading the […]

Camera Plus

April 26, 2011 By Krist Leave a Comment

This is a simple photo I took of my son last weekend with my iPhone. Then I took it into this 99 cent app called Camera Plus and applied this pseudo-HDR effect. Pretty cheap considering the standard Photomatix version is around a hundred bucks.

Free Hi-Res Textures

October 11, 2010 By Krist Leave a Comment

Okay, went to the Philbrook Museum this weekend, more so to take pictures of my kids than to take pictures of art. We’ve been there a few times and since Alex turned 5 and Nate is about to turn 1, we decided to do their “- year old” pictures. While I was there, I also […]

A Beginner’s Guide To Creating Epubs

October 6, 2010 By Krist Leave a Comment

Okay, I know I usually do design stuff and talk about that, but in some round about way, creating epubs fits into design. Don’t ask how, I’ll leave that up to you.     At my job I have everything under the son to do, including creating epub files for one reason or another. This […]

Why Non-Christians Don’t Get The Bible

There are times when we look at unbelievers, and we think, Why don’t they get it? We hear what they say, especially after some truth has been “clearly” laid out in front of them, and their rejection just seems mind-boggling. Why don’t they see what we see? Why don’t they understand the Word of God […]

What the Bible (and History) Actually Says About the Messiah

I read a comment the other day that laid out a very detailed list on what the Jewish Messiah was supposed to be and do, and then made the claim that Jesus didn’t meet those qualifications. It was well said, however, it was a little misleading. I’m not sure if it was unintentional (I’d like […]

Why the Best Argument Isn’t Always the Truth

The world has always seemingly thrived on a good debate. One person wins, another loses—one point-of-view or truth reigns supreme while another cowers in the shadows from the humiliating defeat. Though one-on-one debates have been around since time began, that doesn’t mean the debates themselves are the best of things. That definitely doesn’t mean that […]

How Early Is the New Testament, Really?

If you spend any time in comment sections of any video or article about the reliability of the Bible, you’ve probably seen claims like this: “The New Testament wasn’t written until way later,” or “Most of it wasn’t confirmed before 100 AD,” which is usually followed up by something like, “It’s all made up.” It […]
